Is Earthing grounding rod acceptable for deep grounding?

Earthing.com says that "Earthing Ground Rods are recommended use with all Earthing products. They are mandatory for use in older homes (generally those built before 1960)".

This is rather a short spike, not several feet. Could it be acceptable for deep grounding?
I live in a very old house.

    Thank you.

This will depend upon the composition of your soil. If you have dry sandy soil, this will not work well.

If you have damp soil, it will work.

If you have dry sandy soil, you need to drive a metal star picket in about 3ft6in to get a good earth.

You can get an earthing meter from electrical shops for a few dollars, and this will test the earth of your rod.

Metal water pipes make for a good earth, as they are strongly earthed.
