Astrology and Hermetic Elements

Is there a preset designation for astrological signs that corresponds with hermetic elements? For example, I'm a Leo and my principal 'planet' is the Sun, making my hermetic element 'Fire' (I'm guessing, but it seems logical.) However, I was looking up Taurus on an old book that I haven't read in ages, and it seems that it's main planet is Venus (and has something to do with a heavy female element in the sense that the Pleiades and Hyades are in it), yet it seems to indicate that it's element is the earth element, something to do with bulls pulling plows, and it's symbol being 'stuck on the earth' because of the way it's portrayed.

So, any experts out there? ('Hint hint' Aunt Clair )

Yar, I don't remember each planet for the signs but it goes like this:
Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
