You haveeyes each composed of 130 million photoreceptor cells. In each of those cells thereís 100 trillion atoms thatís more than all the stars in the Milky way galaxy. However each atom in each cell in each eye formed in the core of a star billions of years ago and yet here they are today being utilized to capture the energy released from that same process all to expand the consciousness of you. It's ironic in that you are the universe experiencing itself And all you are is a thought.

I think I know what you're talking about. The last time it happened, however, I seemed to have landed in a deep void that felt wonderful but there wasn't anything to see, it was just a euphoric emptiness. It had the same effect of an exit dream - on waking I felt exhilarated and great.

I think I've described it before as a feeling of being drawn into a vortex - like maybe a black hole. If it was an exit then I didn't have my faculties on the other side.

CFTraveler's run into about everything, maybe she can shed some additional light on it.

Whoa! got edited for bold lettering Just exploring what we can do here.

Anyway, no response from CF, so I'll posit my own explanation.

What if that 'sinking' feeling was a result of dropping into Delta sleep? Dreams occur in an elevated brain frequency often exhibited by REM sleep. But there might be something very important going on in the deep sleep of which I may have had a glimpse.

Like I said, the condition was very restorative!! psychologically speaking (like I needed to say that).

Hmm, I'm not sure what the question was.

    Heliac,
I still "look" for the vibrations. Even if an exit didn't happen, the vibrations confirm that you're close.
Without the vibrations, sometimes I get the spherical vision. When that happens, I can usually travel somewhat in the real time zone, although not too far and without the sensation of the exit. Sometimes I hear a very loud gunshot type of sound. When that happens, I can't remember if it happened before or after the projection, but I'm pretty sure it is before. Sometimes, I just exit and go into the real time zone or astral. All in all my experience is that when the vibrations come and you exit, there is no doubt.

Re: When you don't have exit vibrations:

I guess, if you keep your dream journal, lucidity will make itself apparent, as opposed to a dream. I still claim that an OBE has no doubt. When I have an OBE, I know to get away from my body because of the feedback. When I realize the feedback can occur, I then can come very close to my body, which is aware of "me". Lucidness is different, because I realize I have "become" aware---as opposed to always being aware.
