i'd like to help our Mother Gaia, by giving something back to her.
i read the other day about the ancients giving something personal to her, in return for what they took. something personal, a possession, something with their energy on it.

does anyone here know of any small ceremony i can do daily, to give some energy to Her?
maybe it's as simple as focusing intent, or giving energy directly thru energy work?

i think she needs us more than ever right now...

any suggestions?

I agree she does, and I've been meaning to set up a group meditation to help resolve the Gulf oil problem.
But back to your question: The ancient Huna (Hawaiians) used to do 'gratitude breathing'- that is, consciously taking in life-giving air from the universe, and returning CO2 for the plants in exchange- adding the intention to feed the plants in every breath.
That's all I got.

you know, this gives me an interesting thought...
remember we were doing the "dreaming for others" thing?
well, i wonder what dreaming for Gaia would bring up?
like, setting the intention to connect to her while dreaming, and being available to help her in whatever way we can... :D

That's an awesome idea. If you think up a special thread, I'll sticky it, at least for some time.

I think any environmental mindfulness could qualify. Like, if you've boiled your vegetables, allowing the water to cool and using it to water your plants or composting or walking/riding when you don't need to drive. If you do any of these things with a sense of devotion to and love for the mother then I think it becomes sacred.

I saw the topic in the Dreaming forum and I stickied it. Let's do it!

Wow, really? That's interesting, I started doing this on my own about a year and a half ago. Just seemed like the right thing to do.

Maintaining a constant (or as constant as one can maintain) state of gratitude to Gaia, recognizing how nurturing she is to all of us (life) living here, I think this alone is enough, energetically speaking.
