View Full Version : Throbbing in upper facial area

Several times during deeper meditations in the past few weeks I've experienced a heavy throbbing, rippling vibrational sensation that ranges from the top of my brow area and down my face and cheeks. I assume this is an activation sensation from my brow chakra but would this be a precursor to an overall body vibrational state preceding an OBE?

It could, yes. Do you think you were in trance?

Yes, but so far I've tended to lose focus and concentrate on the heavy vibrations and move from the deep meditative state to a more lucid state. The vibrations will then continue for 3-5 seconds after once again regaining more "normal" states of awareness before dropping off entirely. BTW, during these meditations I'm listening to binaural recordings through headphones, if that makes any difference.

I guess it's possible that the binaurals are facilitating your move into theta, which is supposedly the right state to have an OBE exit.

Previously a member posted an image of facial sensations along an extended T down the nose and below , on and above the physical eyes. I attempted to Google this for you but no luck . CFT would know best how to find a past post.

Some things to consider are ;
* Facial vibes can occur during energy work as the energy centres in the head further develop or ripen.
* Kundalini events can cause facial sensations. Robert has written about a few of these .
* You might want to search on this site and compare Cobweb sensations described by Robert Bruce
*The third eye is the diamond on a vertical and horizontal wheel of energy centres. specific centres called the eyes of the cobra develop above the physical eyes and dragon eyes manifest below the physical eyes subsequently.
* Some people feel the vibes in their face before separation particularly if they are separating from the head/ MoonStone as opposed to the belly/EarthStone. These forms of projection tend to be mental or mystic projections of consciousness and a "mini me" mental body may project with these symptoms. The mini me is a dwarf version of self with the full sized head but a tiny toddler sized body the arms and legs do not manifest but appear like a genii , the green ghost on Ghostbusters or Casper without arms.

Thanks for the input. I did a search for Robert's Cobweb sensation but his description seems much more subdued than the throbbing pulsing sensations I've been feeling. It doesn't last long and fades within a few seconds once I begin paying close attention to it.

All I get is throbbing in the third eye region.
But i'v felt the ripling sensations in my whole body during trance. Like waves that's distorting the body and putting limbs etc. out of place. Is theese the sensations you feel (restricted to your face)?

Btw. this have only happened when I have laid down.

I'd just put it down to a block in the nasal/eye region. Do you wear glasses? That's one possibility. The nasal-eye bridge is one of the bottlenecks for energy flow, blocks there can be felt very pronouncedly, especially during breath meditation. It's at the same time an area a major energy circuit of the body passes through, so it can also get stimulated by all kinds of practices. And finally, depending on life style (watching TV, reading, staring at a monitor come to mind) the facial area and the nose/eye area can store a lot of tension.

I found this but I don't think it's what you were talking about:

The sensations I had stopped a few months ago but the sensations I had weren't severe or painful. The sensations were more of a fluttering nature or a rapid wave-like continuous distortion that usually centered in the facial area, though at times extending to the top of my head and down into my upper body (chest and shoulders). I didn't really notice them extending toward the back of my head though. Odd that they've stopped.

I do wear glasses and the sensations quite possibly originate(d) from an energy blockage, I don't know.

My 3rd eye throbs. Also I can feel the energy in my body pulsating (when I do seated meditation)

The throbbing happens to me alot when I listen to binaurals, so that might be it. When I began MAP my 3rd eye was pulsating every day several times a day.

I've noticed this throbbing sensation during meditaions. I only feel this sensation when I meditate regularly. If I focus on it I noticed I can speed up the throbbing in my nasal area to a "buzz" or "vibration".

Dreamwalker, you could explore the possibility of exiting through the third eye. i know some people exit through that area, and perhaps the vibrations are related to that. But, I'd ask the seniors of this site for more information, I'm just guessing pretty unqualifid here based on my own experiences.
