I just received my MAP book with the BWG Cd, and it states that you must use headphones to be able to use the pre-sets. I have a Pillowsonic speaker set, and I"m wondering is this will be ok to use.

Pillowsonic is a set of stereo speakers that fit under your pillow or directly underneath your your head, but don't fit inside your ears.

There are programs at http://www.transparentcorp.com/products/software.php which can modify sound files so that they have entrainment effects which do not require headphones. Like with BW Generator, there is a library of presets for people who have paid the registration fees. There is also a forum available to ask questions and to discuss results.

The reason for headphones with regular binaurals is that the speakers are of equal distance from your ears. As long as you can place the pillow speakers so that they are equally far from your ears, it should give you some sort of entrainment. The problem is that in order to get the effects, you have to keep the left and right channels from mixing. The farther the speakers are from your ears, the louder they have to be and the more likely the left and right sides are to mix.

If you are looking for a product to buy, Centerpointe suggests the model of headphones http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009 ... e&n=172282 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000092YR6/104-6791129-9438312?v=glance&n=172282) to listen to in bed while you sleep. They are supposed to be much more comfortable for that purpose.

Thanks, Tom. Have you tried the BSS software personally? I just looked at the web site and it seems interesting.

It has only been recently that I bought the BSS software (brainwave sound studio) and I've made only one binaural with it at this time. It seems to work well enough for me, which is more than BW Gen did. The trouble is that it is too new to me and I'm still trying to decide if it works for myself. At this point I'm trying more to prove that it doesn't work, so that if it might disappoint me I can stop using it first. Still, I know someone who has used the product and suggested it to me. One thing that you might want to consider is using the product for a short time, the trial period, if you can decide more quickly than I can. :)
