I hear all the stuff about lessons and growth. I get that. What intrigues me is both abundance and need are choices we make. So why do we choose need at a human level when abundance is just as easy to choose?

Because we've been conditioned to 'need', and feel guilty about abundance at an emotional level. Religion.

Not neccessarily , most dont choose to be born in affluent or destitute settings , so that back tracks the question a bit more :)

That comes with the assumption most of us are aware that abundance is "just as easy to choose".

I think he's coming from a LoA metaphysical level- after all, many branches of metaphysics posits that we choose our existence. Perhaps we chose it to change this misconception to something more 'fruitful'.
