View Full Version : Humour - for all planes of existence.

Hi Folks.
I've read in books about between-life hypnotic regressions, that there is a great deal of humour and laughter in the afterlife. Wow, that's heartening isn't it!

So I'm starting this thread to share some things that make us laugh. I like the quote by Eckhart Tolle “Life isn't as serious as the mind makes it out to be.”

Here's two of my favourites that have stuck in my memory.

A pilgrim is traveling through India and he comes to a wide river. He can't see any bridges or ferries. He spots a mystic sitting on the other side and calls out "Hey! How do I get to the other side of the river?". The mystic calls back "You already are!"

The following quote is from Dancing Past the Dark by Nancy Evans Bush (from the International Association for Near-Death Studies or IANDS), about distressing near-death experiences:
"It is well to keep in mind the fabled case of the telegenic near-death experiencer who, after several major TV appearances, announced to a startled IANDS staff person that the NDEr’s opinions should be given precedence in any discussion because “my consciousness is higher than your consciousness.” So much for ego death."

despite being a strong advocate for the absolute veracity of NDEs I cannot help but really love this one ...

He he .
What would we have left if we took away our sense of humor? The clowns at the coffee shop come to mind - they are to be taken SERIOUSLY . I'd love to spoof the 'poets' someday if I could. But, that's just a personal thing.
