It depends on which stage of the sleep cycle the flushing happens. I didn't see it mentioned in any of the reports I saw about this, and it seems that the quality and duration of the sleep cycle was self-reported. So who knows.

Thanks for that link- it explained more than the ones I've looked at- and even though it doesn't answer the question I had in my mind (how slow does the brain have to go for the glymphatic system to rev up?) it does make me wonder if energy work (energy circuits in the head) helps get that process going?
