So I've been meditating and doing energy work daily for about 2 1/2 weeks now and I've noticed really good progress. Its been about 4 days now that I've noticed during meditation while just observing thoughts and pushing them away for as long as I can, I begin to go into a light trance state. While in this state I noticed that I will suddenly GASP! for one breath involuntarily, aslo accompanied by one noticable pulse/throb/beat in my chest like my heart beat hard for just one beat. Has anyone ever experienced this or know what these sensations mean if any meaning at all?

Probably the Torso Energy Rush. (http://www.astraldynamics.com.au/content.php?200-Part-8)
Sounds like it, anyway.

I have had this many times. I wake up during the gasp exactly as described in CTF's link.

As a note I can tell that it has disapeared if I half sit when meditating or during trance practice. Also when sitting up I dont have it. I Have often had it while listening to binaural beats, but perhaps thats just proof of the effectiveness of the binaurals.

I used to get it when I was first projecting consciously- after a few times it calms down- or we get so used to it we just don't notice.

Yeah, I notice it while listening to binaural beats as well. As for a conscious projection, I have yet to still experiance that. All of mine are spontaneous and very brief.
