its a cool survey test to see how active ur chakras are, then if some are not active then you can go to the second on and it will tell you how to activate them more. here are my results for it, post your results as well.
Root: open (25%)
Sacral: under-active (0%)
Navel: open (31%)
Heart: open (38%)
Throat: open (19%)
Third Eye: open (31%)
Crown: under-active (6%)

 Agree with the root chakra.
sacral as well, heart yes, throat yes. Everything seems right here.

I'd be inclined to disagree with these results... none of them seem to really go with my experiences with my chakras. And what on earth is the Sacral chakra? And where's the solar plexus? How can they miss out the solar plexus when that's probably one of the most obvious ones to me. I don't know why I feel it's obvious, but I feel I draw upon my energy from there, and probably because it seems to be the centre of my body.

That second link is really interesting though... to open your chakras. I never get much sensations out of my root (which does actually go with the percentages, so that one may be right in a way), but I just thought I'd have a quick go at the technique. I did it for no more than maybe 6 seconds, and I suddenly felt a massive pulse there. It was so strong that I actually physically jumped out of my chair and was like writhing from the sensation. It took me a moment to calm down from it.

I'll definitely have a go through those techniques and see if they work. It was just amazing how putting my thumbs and index fingers together, concentrating on my root chakra and chanting LAM just made it pulse like mad. That was way more, and a lot faster, than anything I have achieved using purely tactile imaging.

Thank you!

edit: I'm very skeptical about the explanations of the chakras on that website. A lot of what it says seems to contradict itself and what I originally think. I guess the sacral is the sexual chakra, that I don't think Robert includes, or advises never to try stimulating it. But I still have no idea why they've left out the Solar plexus.

Here are my results, for anyone who might be intrested. My root chakra is blocked, so this test seems to have some accuracy. Though I don't like the whole idea of an overactive chakra. My crown chakra is very active, yes, but it's that way for a very good reason. *shrug* I suppose they are merely trying to advocate balance, which is good.

Throat: over-active (75%)

I have tried the vocal techniques before and do not get results, that I can notice at least. Any possiblility I could be fudging it up?

There were even different vocal techniques on another site I tried. bah Im no good at that.

maybe chakras have to be open a little already for those techniques to work and mine are 99% closed.

vocal techniques aren't the way to go. Consult someone who can open your chakras partway for you. I can do it for you during one session if you want. PM me if interested.

That was interesting, though I always find these kind of questions difficult to answer - they're sometimes too vague and open to interpretation. Here are my results:

Throat: open (38%)

Great links though! Food for thought, and possibly a good way to see how your energetic make-up changes over time...

It would be nice to know what the "right" answers are for the test for perfectly open and balanced chakras. Then each one that is different from the "right" answer can be taken one at a time and any bad habits related to it can be corrected. That would help to supplement techniques based on meditation, energy raising, visualization, and so on. I've thought about whether a psychologist would be useful in place of a "guru" for the purpose of identifying bad habits and patterns and correcting them, because they are designed so that people do not see their own bad patterns.

It's a tad bit opinionated. Some of the questions like, "Do you know that you are a reflection of something much bigger than yourself", is a biased question. You are more than likely going to lose some crown chakra points if you don't agree to that philosophy. Who is to say that such a philosophy is the True? And then there are questions that aren't detailed enough or those that may leave you wondering how much "feeling at home anywhere" is a 5 on a scale of 1 thru 5.

It's not perfect:)

Indeed, I should've been a bit clearer. I was more of interested in what the computational alogarithm is and how each answer affects the variables due to such large range of scores for each.

I got a question for people with high crown chakra scores: Did you answer in the positive concerning being connected with nature and feeling like you are a part of something bigger because you actually experienced such a thing or based on your BELIEF that you are.

I just don't know alot of people who actually "KNOW" such a thing via experience. Most people simply believe such a thing.

Interesting test.

However, what evidence is there to indicate that chakras are connected in any way with personality or psychology? Those seem like rather physical things to me.

Chris
29th November 2005, 01:51 PM
The whole energy/chakra system is more like a map of the psyche. It's like a form of (ancient) psychology which deals with abstract symbols. Each chakra represents certain aspects of personality/mind/soul. So when we do work on these, we are actually balancing/changing aspects of self through the use of symbols. Due to their symbolic nature, and traits we associate with them, when we pass energy through them, we are working on an abstract level (below word comprehension).
Sort of like when one heals, we direct ‘energy’ to the site that needs help. We don’t do detailed visualisation surgery, we just direct energy which seems to act as a manifestation of our focus (the mind does the work).

As to the test. I would say that it's perhaps too simplistic to give an accurate result of ones chakra development - but could give indications.

So, what would that mean if you are over-active on everything? That you are going to blow sky high! Or that you are overly balanced? Not sure I quite get it. The percentages seem about right, but how do they judge that having them "open" versus "over-active" is better? It would seem to me that having each chakra closer percentage-wise would be more of a balance than having them all closer to 50%.?????

I could be wrong, but I think the premise is that certain personality traits are indicitive of how active certain chakras are, the relative percentages showing level of balance/imbalance. At least that's my take on it. This link explains it pretty well.

http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras ... hp#chakra1 (http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/introduction.php#chakra1)

I don't take it very seriously, it's interesting and fun, but not the end all be all by any means. :)

ewillison,
If you think the test is a farce, then why did you bother to take it? Hehehe, curiosity got the better of you didn't it? :D I don't think any of us think it's terribly accurate, but the temptation to take it was just too strong! On mine, I would have thought that my crown chakra is more open than what it said, but, maybe that explains why when I'm attempting OBE, the top of my head often feels like its going to explode! Help!!! I can't get out of my crown! LOL!

5th February 2006, 05:04 AM
Whoa, Scymitar, I looked at the link you suggested. I'm BAD! Now I really don't agree with it!!! I'm rich, but I'm hardly materialistic and greedy :( And, I'm emotional, but not all the time and not even close to being a clingy type person. I definitely don't suffocate people with my love, and rarely is my love selfish. Then why do I feel so balanced even though by this test I'm over-active on most? This test was a fun thing, but it is starting to degenerate into an ego thing. Who's the most balanced, who's the most advanced, who's more spiritual.... That doesn't help anyone. I'm thinking it's a bit more appropriate to go to your Higher Self and find out if you are balanced. Well, for me anyway.

5th February 2006, 08:01 PM
If someone can better answer this question of 'what is balance', please feel free, anytime there guys...

I feel it's a matter of relative balance. Take your results, PHG, all your scores seem to be within a few points of eachother, this seems to indicate balance, imho. Take my results, while my 4th,5th,6th and 7th seem to be OK, compare them to my first three, way out of whack in my opinion.

I have a suspicion this idea may not be entirely correct as compared to the opinion in this post:

Root: open (31%)
Sacral: open (31%)
Navel: open (44%)
Heart: open (38%)
Throat: open (50%)
Third Eye: open (56%)
Crown: over-active (88%)
(slowly returning to body 8) )

Excellent balance here, very healthy :D

The pattern indicated in this reading seems to indicate and ever increasing amount of activity, a crescendo type affect.

Maybe someone can jump in and clear this up?

Then why do I feel so balanced even though by this test I'm over-active on most? This test was a fun thing, but it is starting to degenerate into an ego thing. Who's the most balanced, who's the most advanced, who's more spiritual.... That doesn't help anyone. I'm thinking it's a bit more appropriate to go to your Higher Self and find out if you are balanced. Well, for me anyway.

Painterhypnogirl, please stop attacking my postings.
I leave you with two quotes from Don Juan:
.......
A warrior chooses a path with heart, any path with heart, and follows it; and then he rejoices and laughs. He knows because he sees that his life will be over altogether too soon. He sees that nothing is more important than anything else.
.......
Impeccability is nothing else but the proper use of energy - Don Juan

ewillison,
The only post where I mentioned your name was a joke! Didn't you notice the smiley faces? I was teasing you, not attacking!?!?!? None of my other posts said anything about you. I was noticing through the thread that some people were actually putting themselves down because of their scores and others were congratulating people on their scores, and I didn't notice the particular people who were doing it. I just noticed that it was happening. I was making a comment hoping that people wouldn't take this test quite so seriously. It would be sad for someone to feel bad about their spiritual progress because of some arbitrary test. That's why I said we should check with our Higher Self. How on earth did you get that any of this was a personal attack on you? I'm clueless here!
