Is it possible to have an OBE while asleep?

On numerous occasions I have felt as if I was able to leave my body while being asleep, and as I attempt to leave my chest can feel heavy/painful and/or my being would continuously rotate around directionlessly.

It feels very scary and uncomfortable so I always stop it from happening. Also I fear that I might die (or something) if it continues. Any input would be much appreciated.

Absolutely. In fact, it's extremely common. I would go so far as to say it happens to most people regularly.

You won't die. It's entirely normal and it's not actually you "leaving" your body. It's more like changing the channel, so your primary point of awareness/focus is shifted to a different aspect of yourself. Your body isn't left "empty" or anything. It used to scare me, too, so it only happened when I was actually asleep and dreaming (an OBE dream is extremely distinct). But you really aren't leaving your body unattended or anything. You're just watching a different channel for a while. :)
