View Full Version : LIGO discovers gravitational wave (from 2 merging black holes)

I attended a lecture on the discovery. Pretty interesting that it confirms black holes and a lot of Einsteins theory of relativity. It was discovered simultaneously on 2 separate systems on 9/14/15. I find the date interesting since it was the predicted occurrence of Simon Atkins' Wave X.

This is gravitational wave was created at the moment that 2 black holes (each with 30-40x the mass of the sun) merged into a single black hole.
