View Full Version : Self Healing

Hi All,

Any ideas on self healing; any techniques, methods, experiences??

I've been pondering self-healing lately, and last night, as I was about to go to sleep, I said to myself "OK, time to self heal now". Within a few seconds I felt wrapped in loving, healing energy. I had a sense of love for my being that is quite foreign to me, actually. It was really wonderful. What happened was the more love I felt for my own being, the more love I felt for all beings. I read it's supposed to work like that, but, didn't ever really experience it before. I mean, my entire body felt love energy!

Can it be that simple? To consciously say "OK, allow healing energy through now" and it happens?

Consider the microcosm and macrocosm. To heal inside, one must heal outside, to heal outside one must heal inside. A balance is needed. This is how I self heal. I heal those around me and the very reality I live in. And I myself, become healed.

OK, so I get there are many levels to self healing, and that what I experienced is like a real start - a preliminary type thing. One has to feel love for thier own being to start to self heal.

Stuff was going on energetically though, I could feel my whole body being swept over. It was a truly peaceful, wonderful feeling. I wonder if my Higher Self was involved at all.

For the last month or so, it feels like blockages have been clearing and my heart is really starting to open up. I'm also feeling a shift in my 'vibe'; more frequently, I am able to identify the feeling of my Higher Self and I feel that yuck vibe less and less. Let's hope this continues. :D

I feel wrapped in love and fluffiness from time to time :D
It's a very nice feeling :)

I don't see why it shouldn't be that simple :)
But maybe you have a talent for healing, didn't you score as Healer in that Empath test? ;) :D

I have two experiences with self healing that stick out and make me want to explore this further. They're not very impressive, but I don't get sick or injured very often either, lol. Until I came here anyway. :P

A while back I woke up in the middle of the night, sicker than I've been in years. On this went until the middle of the next day; at the risk of making this post fit for the "Too Much Info" file, I couldn't hold down two sips of water for more than ten minutes. Well, I had just seen the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?!" shortly beforehand, and had been reading up on Dr. Emoto's research on water, programming it with feelings and intentions, etc... so around noon or so, I got an idea. Got myself a big glass, and sat with it for a while, meditating on it, pumping energy into it and willing it to be programmed with things like perfect health, love, balance, and whatever else I thought might be good at the time. Long story short, not only was I able to chug and hold down the whole thing, I was feeling almost back to normal within an hour.

Anyway, someone else I told that story suggested that since I'm an Aquarius, I might be more effective at doing things with water than others; I hadn't thought about that, and I don't know if there's anything to it or not, but there's that.

The other time, I had cut myself shaving, and it would not. Stop. BLEEDING. I had to miss class that night because I was sitting there for literally 2-3 hours with a piece of toilet paper. At some point I had an odd impulse, again with the water; sort of imparted the idea of "coagulate" into the water in my blood, visualized two heavy doors to symbolize the cut, and felt myself shoving them closed and sealing them with my mental hands. I felt some sort of energetic sensation in the area, the bleeding stopped by itself within a minute or two after that... and given how long it had been going, I didn't think it was coincidence. If only I'd thought of it hours prior, lol.

My last idea is mostly theoretical, but given that I've had success before communicating directly with various aspects of my subconscious, I don't think it's much of a stretch to think I could do it with the healing aspect. I've always been a really fast healer anyway, so I'd like to play with that a bit (and no, I don't need any help injuring myself for an experiment, thankyouverymuch! :P), and I've also wondered if I could send that aspect out to help others heal themselves faster, but haven't tried anything along those lines yet either.

So yeah, hopefully some of this will give ya some new ideas to play with.

Cool stuff. I've heard about the water/intent technique. Already have an idea about how to try that out. :D

Um, er... about the Aquarius thing... A lot of people confuse the fact that it's symbol is the Water Bearer with the idea that it's element is water. I don't know if that's what your friend was doing, but, it sounds like it. In fact, Aquarius is an Air sign. :) Maybe they were talking about how the symbol suggests control over water? I dunno... :?

Personally, I don't think astrological sun sign elements have anything to do with what elemental energy you find easy to work with. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the input, those are some very inspiring examples. :D

Thanks for that idea. I have always been puzzled about why it is so easy to do effective healing on others, but so difficult to do effective healing on myself. It ought to be the same, right? But perhaps that self-love thing is getting in the way, as well as how I spend more time on someone else when I'm healing them than I do when I'm healing myself. I will experiment with this idea.

I have been trying to find methods of self healing myself. I have some significant damage to my energetic structure which affects me even on a conscious level, making it very difficult for me to focus for meditation or healing attempts. In truth, I no next to nothing on the subject, and am not well acquanted with anyone who does. If anyone had any tips on self healing for an absolute beginner, I would be interested to hear.

My favorite method requires no energy work. just find the most perfect place in nature, go for a hike and find that spot. Sit there and clear your mind. N' just breathe.

Given that I can't quite speak for others, and my observations of them may be flawed, with both myself and with others I have observed this phenomenon multiple times. I think both your guesses are right on DSmoke (self love, time).

I've had pretty good success with self healing. But Im pretty clueless how energy healing or healing others works, my tech doesnt use much energy, but science, and a concious relationship with the cells in my body (we are composed of many concious beings). You can controll everything about your body. Recently I clipped on a health monitor thing. I tested how much controll I have over my body by changing beats per minute (bpm), blood pressure, and oxidization. I could flip between 120 bpm and 60 bpm in 2-3 seconds.

-I am very sensitive to changes in air pressure. I escorted someone to Anchorage for medical. The change in pressure was excruciating. I was deaf in one ear for days. Well, to my horror, a day or two before we were to head home I unmistakably got a nasal infection. I was scared that because of it I would be permanently damaged from the flight. I drank some orange juice, sat down in slight trance. I opened the blood vessels and increased the blood flow to my sinuses, told my immune system to fight, changed the energy in the affected area to something positive, and didnt acknowledge the infection too much. By the time we left for the airport my fever was gone, and no trace of the infection. Nasal infections last for weeks normally, even with antibiotics.

-I got really bad tendonitus.... Ive had it before in my right arm, it lasted about a year. This time so painfull I couldnt lift a peice of toast out of the toaster. I'm a caregiver, and it was keeping me from taking very good care of my patient. I prayed and requested that it be healed, not for me, but for the person I take care of. I also tried to heal it myself, but I dont really know what tendonitus is. In a day it was totally healed.

-I broke my knee a few years ago and had a lot of scar tissue in there. One day I sent my immune system to remove it, immediatly it started to itch behind my kneecap and get inflamed. In a few days there was no more scar tissue.

Ive healed a lot of colds/flu too. But I havent had much luck with reforming bone, I think that might be in the energy department.

Tendonitis-Inflammation of the tendon. It can have other causes, but usually movement-related. Like tennis-elbow (or golf elbow). I'd say try to lower inflammation in the area (by constricting your blood vessels- if you can do that) it should ease the pain.

Tendons and mucles depend on each other - the tendon is the spring and the muscle the power pulling against that spring. Deep tissue relaxation through energy work, especially like Robert's Etheric Wrap can relax those tissues, combat inflammation, and return equilibrium between both parts, as shortened muscles elongate, tendons return to being springy. It's worth a try. ;)

I relieve my husband's tendonitis pain with a method very similar to Robert's "Healing from the Heart." That's great that you were able to remove it completely!

I have a tiny curiosity.
Are you better at: Healing yourself or healing others?

While I have found I have a good control over my energy body and were able to cure everything that have come across so far, I'm finding it dificult to cure anyone else.
I don't want to scare them by putting my hands on them so I try some distance mind only healing. It doesnt seem to work so well i guess.

Shirley I'm glad you bumped this thread up again. :)

I'm not entirely sure. I've had a lot more experience with self-healing, but a few good experiences trying to heal others too.

As to why hands-on healing may be more effective than distance healing (though distance stuff can be effective too) I would say there's probably a strong psychological component to having someone actually standing there and laying hands on the patient. The physical touching probably plays a big part too; there are studies to confirm this.

As for "scaring people," yeah, there are people who aren't very touchy-feely, but they'll usually let you know, or you can always ask. This was discussed at the meeting for a reiki attunement I just received; its something to keep in mind but putting your hands over the person without actually touching them is common too.

Anyway, since this thread was first posted I've had a few more cool experiences and have been developing this ability. As a focus I use, of all things, rapid self-healing scenes from movies like X-Men and The Crow; what I do is like a combination of visual imagery and RB's tactile imaging, where I sort of impose the concept on the bodypart in question, see/feel it closing up or otherwise healing like in those scenes. I discovered this half accidentally when I had a random impulse to try it, but it actually seems to work. Now that I'm getting into reiki I've been incorporating that too, and it seems to have added a whole new dimension to these things.

my humble opinion...

Firstly congrats on your attunement Palehorse, Reiki is a very powerful healing technique, which works with the physical, emotional, and spiritual body all at the same time. It's applications are limitless.

I use a variety of methods for healing, having suffered from a numerous aliments, in effort to cure myself I found that I had a gift to heal others. I utilize a variety of modalities. I am a Reiki Master & a registered Yoga teacher, I also employ allot of pranayama (breathing techniques) as well as crystal energy and of late EFT & of course the NEW techniques. Point of the story, I'm comfortable with self healing and the healing of others.

However, it is very clear to me that I am able to bring well being to others with greater ease then myself. Part of that may be due to my empathic nature however, I think that perhaps while we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves, the ability to heal others while also innate, can be seen as a skill. (Some people can draw, others sing or play a musical instrument etc) So while the skill can be learned there is a natural ablilty also at play.

This is not to say that it should not be explored, trust your vibes and intuition and know that miracles happen every day.

Light, Love & Laughter
