View Full Version : How long until it starts to work (for Astral Projection)?

Greetings,

I just restarted with Astral Dynamics, after trying it for several months some years ago.
As I still had no success with any method to experience an AP, I thought that especially energy work might be the missing key.

For those who followed the book and it?s step-by-step-guide, how long did it take for you until the energy work started to work (vibrations or anything else)?

Regarding my daily practice, after the energy work and Chakra activation I feel nothing special, so I just go into trance and wait for any signs that I can start with the rope technique.
When I start to doze off or see hypnagogic pictures or feel very light inside my body I do the rope and feel VERY light energetic sensations in my arms, sometimes my chest.
But these never grow, I do the rope for 15-20 minutes and then give up.

Was this the normal experience for you as well, when you started with that approach?

Probably around three months, but your experience may vary.
But: If you are in trance, in a deep enough trance to project, you should have no body awareness whatsoever. The symptoms you get come from your mental processes, and focusing on your body sensations actually keeps you from having the body dissociation you need to get out of your body.
It's ok to focus on your body when you are doing energy work, but when you are past that initial step on your routine, and are now trying to get in a trance, forget about your body, physical or energetic (at this point they're indistinguishable), and visualize what you want to visualize or do whatever trance induction methods you are doing. Focus on what you see or hear, (in your imagination) do not think of body sensations at all. When the symptoms get dramatic (such as vibrations, movement or sounds or some combination) then you start your exit technique (rope or whichever you picked) and do that until you either exit or pass out from exhaustion. Just don't go to sleep no matter what happens.

Thank you very much, this helps me a lot!
I understand that the waiting for symptoms keeps me away from true trance, so its important to rather get surprised by any possible sensations.

Thanks!
