Hey all,

I have been reading about Astral Projection for years now, I have tried different techniques to no avail. To be honest though my biggest problem is commitment. I haven't found any one technique that I can stick with. I picked up the Astral Dynamics book and I have read through it. I find it a very fascinating read with so much information to absorb. I guess what I would like to know is how do you guys get started? Where do I begin? There's so much information out there on astral projection I guess I need help finding a starting point and a direction to go in. I guess my answer is to just follow the book and read some more on the forum, I just wondered if anyone else feels like I do. They wanna start but don't really know where to begin? Maybe I am just overwhelmed by the vast amounts of information available on this topic. Anyways thank you for reading my ramble.

I would suggest starting with body awareness. This is the first step toward energy work and the sensations you can conjure up in your body can be startling as well as very encouraging. Also being very therapeutic you can use this technique to relieve stress and can provide something to concentrate on during meditation. Concentrating on energy work always helps to quiet my mind. In a short amount of time you can learn how to draw energy from your hands and feet into your secondary energy centers which can provide dramatic boosts in energy and very interesting feelings. Just enjoy the sensations and relax.

I would say, start with the clear intention of what you want to accomplish. Is there a reason, other than exploration? Is it to achieve altered states, or to explore other ways of existing?
If you need a specific technique or practice schedule, there are many on the OBE forum, and each practice schedule or technique you can find will be described in parts with the tutorials or AD pedia. (or in your book, with a few updates).
If you want something very detailed and specific, get MAP in book form or the new (and very cool) CD companion.

Thank you for the advice. What is MAP and can I order it online?

MAP is Mastering Astral Projection and you can order it online. It comes in book form (with a CD-Rom with the Brainwave Generator) or in an all CD format MAP CD Companion, which can be played and listened to and combines the work with appropriate Brainwave Entrainment background.
