Hi,

I recently bought the book Mastering Astral Projection and it came with the CD. I have a PC but no way to move it close enough so I can use Bwgen in my meditation space. I noticed it came with sound files seperate from Bwgen, could I put these on CD or play them from my mac (which I can move) instead of using Bwgen?

Thank you.

You can try and record the bwgen sounds to the mac using a male-male audio cable that goes from your PC's speaker jack to the mac's Line in (not the microphone jack, because those are usually mono only).

All you have to do is play the sounds on the PC while the mac records... I don't know if the OS on the mac comes with a recording application... It probably does.

You can also probably record wav files from the PC itself by using the windows application "SNDREC32"; you'd have to edit your sound card's properties so it records from "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" instead of "Microphone" ; also make sure you're recording at a frequency of at least 44 kHz in 16 bit stereo. Then you can copy the sound files to your mac and listen from that.

If you're not familiar with this stuff, I can give you more detailed instructions, just let me know... You can also try googling around if you don't want to wait, there's probably tutorials out there.

But of course, the simplest way to do it is probably just to pay for the full version of bwgen to activate the recording feature -- it's just 15 dollars.
EDIT: Whoops... Actually it's more like 50 bucks!

Hi Kittycat. The BWGen presets are made to play on a PC, but there is some info as to how to install a PC program player on your mac, and I understand it's free.

As to ripping the presets to MP3 format, my understanding is that it can 'clean up' the effects, making them useless, but there may be a way-

Is it alright to rip the MAP CD Companion tracks and then download them to an IPOD? Would the effectiveness be diminished as well?

I did a search trying to find the answer to this question, but could not find one.

This is the only thread I could find about it- viewtopic.php?f=40&t=8228&p=88041#p88041 (http://forums.astraldynamics.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=8228&p=88041#p88041)
All the others got deleted in the prune, which could have answered your question.

Thanks for your response.

I have already downloaded the tracks to my ipod as this gives me some flexibility with respect to when and where I can listen. Hopefully, it will work out.
