What CDs that could be put on an iPod are good for assisting with astral projection, deep relaxation, and lucid dreaming? Of course, I know there are the MAP & OOBJ sets. But right now I just need 1 or 2 discs as the MAP & OOBJ prices are out of my reach for the present.

The idea is to get a copy of BW Gen, a popular program for creating binaurals. Maybe you would also want Audacity or Cool Edit 96, which I think are both freeware. There is a library of presets associated with BW Gen, although I'm not sure about using them without registering your copy. I'm sure there are threads which apply to using BW Gen without paying to register it, of course.

Actually, I did that. It's not the same. I started another thread about if there is a way to put the BWG itself on iPod.

I think what I am looking for may be more Guided Meditations & music that will assist with these things, more than brain-wave audios.

It doesn't look good for actually running the BW Gen software on your iPod.

Question: Is there a Macintosh or Linux version available?
Answer: No. However, there are PC emulators for Macintosh, on which BrainWave Generator works. For more information, see http://emulation.net [this link does not work for me for some reason, at least right now]. BrainWave Generator has been reported to run fine on iMac with Virtual PC 1.01.
There are Windows emulators available for Linux, too. BrainWave Generator has been reported to run fine on the Wine emulator. For more information, see http://www.winehq.com.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question: Is there a PDA (Windows CE) version available?
Answer: No. We do not have any plans to create PDA versions of BrainWave Generator. The reason is that there are already several ways of using BrainWave Generator while "on-the-move":
Record BrainWave Generator output onto a tape, and play it with a portable tape-player.
Play BrainWave Generator output to a WAV file, convert it into CD format, and play with a portable CD-player.
Play BrainWave Generator output to a WAV file, convert it into MP3 and play with a portable MP3 player.
Buy a palmtop computer that runs real Windows, and use BrainWave Generator on it.
Considering these options and the high costs and resource needs of Windows CE development, we have decided not to support any Windows CE PDA's. Besides, the sound capabilities of most (not all) PDA palmtops are quite limited. For example, some of them may support mono sound only, making binaural beats impossible to attain.

Why would you run the software? I thought making a file, encoding it and storing that would be the trick, right? Am I missing something here?

Yes, that is what I've done. I run BWgen on my fiance's PC, then saved the output in .wav files, then encoded them into Apple lossless (or mp3, I don't remember) and put them on the iPod.

Quite easier to have the iPod (or other mp3 player) at bed rather than a PC running BWgen! Plus I have a Mac so I can't use BWgen at all! :)

What are your experiences with it?

Oh- also, another subject I'm looking for audio files for- Chakra cleansing & balancing.

Just found that site has a Chakra balancing program.

Any other recommendations?
