I am not able to use the BWG, as my headphones don't work in my pc. Whenever I plug them in, I can still hear from the speakers. I know this is a pc problem and not one for here, but my question is this, will the fact that I cannot use the BWG impede my progress through MAP?

No, because the binaural beats are optional, and you already have experience with altered states. But if you want to have the fun of the binaurals, you'll have to either see about getting the pc fixed. :D

-----------------The long version of this answer is that binaural beats get your brainwave synchronized to altered state (pre-trance and trance states) so that you learn how they feel, and they help you achieve the state with less 'disbelief'. But since you already are a medium you are already trained in this, so you don't really need them.

I'd also like to point out that you can 'technically' still do just fine without headphones and just use your speakers.
Your brain will still put together the binaural beat. Give that a shot and see if that works for you.

I guess, this is also assuming you're able to do this and not annoy anyone else in your household. hehe

easiest would be to lie on the floor with the speakers either side of your head.
just make sure right is on the right, and left on the left. :)

I've had the MAP book and cd for over a year and after an initial attempt at the BWG and my headphone problem, it's only this past week I've picked it up again and began thinking about the BWG again. And, typical of my total idiocy with all things pc related, I've only just discovered I've been putting the headphone jack into the wrong hole (duh)! So I was able to get it to work the other day and was delighted but then to my horror, I found that having the sound going kind of 'interfered' with my ability to concentrate on the energy work - I kept concentrating on the sound and forgetting about the bouncing and sponging and I'd have to keep bringing my focus back on to the energy work. So I'm going to continue without the cd. I'm used to meditating and altered states and I just found the sound 'got in the way'.

If you want to, you can listen to the presets at another time- but you don't have to.
