That's interesting. It's been known for years that it's a fake (a very old fake, but fake, nonetheless), and now it's been shown how it was done. Cool.

I wonder if this will start a "get your own Shroud of Turin" cottage industry, where people manufacture these things to sell to tourists? Hey, I'd buy one. How cool would that be?!

I think the scientist who reproduced it pretty much hits the nail on the head with this statement:

"If they don't want to believe carbon dating done by some of the world's best laboratories they certainly won't believe me."

Ayup. People believe what they want, and they disbelieve what they want. There's no swaying people who don't want to be swayed.

That was my favorite line, too.
