Hi

in your book on energy work you say it is best done seated in an armchair with a cushion under your feet.

Is there a great disadvantage if you do the techniques lying in bed?

I know that the breathing is different when lying, that is why many meditation schools teach you to be sitting always for better breathwork (btw, I dislike traditional Eastern lotus position types a lot, does not work for me).

However, sensing and running energy through the body seems no different to me when lying.

G'day,

The biggest difficulty with laying down is falling asleep.

Most energy work should be done sitting. A simple dining chair or office chair suffices.

When I do heavy energy work, I use a combination. Heavy bouncing and plank actions, for example, are more effective when laying down.

Again, it is necessary to avoid falling asleep for energy work and meditation, and to remain conscious. The physical body will fall asleep during meditation, but the slight discomfort provided by sitting helps keep the mind conscious.
