• Wisdom from Carl Jung

Great wisdom from Carl Jung on enlightenment. jung-1

    Carl Jung stated:

"Enlightenment consists not merely in seeing of luminous shapes and visions, but in making the darkness visible. The latter procedure is more difficult and therefore, unpopular."

There is so much packed into this quote. So many of us want to be enlightened but so many of us do not know what this involves.

Becoming enlightened means seeing the whole.

All of our light and our dark.

It means becoming intimately aware of all our thoughts and actions, good an bad.

So many of us push away our ugliness and go into deep denial. We do not realize that seeing and knowing our darkness brings us huge compassion and opens our heart towards all others. It enables us to reconnect to humanity.

Another great Carl Jung quote comes to mind.

"We cannot change anything if we do not first accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses."

What we reject, we drive into our subconscious and we are no longer fully integrated. We start living unconscious lives where we react instead of having the conscious power to change and transform ourselves. We need to hear all that passes through our mind when you meditate.

We seem to fear imperfection as if it is a great sin to be imperfect. We do not seem to realize that imperfection is an inherent part of the human condition.

"Embrace Imperfections. Learn from them. Grow from them. For they are the soil that bears the fruit of grace" RB

None of us has enough experience to know the perfect thing to do at any given moment in time. We have such unrealistic expectations of ourselves and others.

Only in hindsight can we see with true clarity. The last thing we should do is judge, when we should be focusing on growth learning.

The only way to work towards perfection is to be fully aware. Change what can be changed in full conscious awareness. As we come to accept ourselves, our acceptance of others starts to magically transform...as we start to grasp the concept of oneness.
