The big problem with trying to understand God/Source is the natural sense of separation we have from God/Source.
Most religions promote this sense, of being separate from God/Source.
God is placed comfortably up beyond the clouds.
We call on God when we want something or need help.
Then we go back to doing whatever it is we do.
We like our spiritual privacy and sense of independence.
But the truth is, God/Source is a part of you, is you, just like the tip of your small finger is a part of you. But the tip thinks it is separate. It does not realize the body it is a part of. The body looks down and smiles.
There are lots and lots of fingertips.
Imagine a hierarchical pyramid structure. At the top is a star representing the highest expression of God/Source. Through descending layers, at the bottom, this structure rests upon gazillions of fingertips. And each fingertip perceives and believes itself to be completely separate.
To realize God/Self fully requires a higher perspective than human consciousness allows. We can experience it, but not explain or truly understand it.
This is good. A big part of being here in the physical universe is to live the journey our way. Too much God/Source realization would grossly interfere with this. We need to stay grounded here in the physical. So filters are applied to our senses and understandings.
God is wise.
