Well, I haven't had a blog post in quite awhile. Since I have been getting back to the practice of pranayama, I might as well post my results from the past week that I have restarted on.
I remember doing a 5:20:10 (breathe in:hold:breathe out) with ease. Now I can only do about 2:8:4. It was due to me trying to choose a path. I find now that the path I choose is the yogic hermetic master of self experience path.
Lately, I have been studying the philosophy of the body and the correspondence of the chakras within the subtle body. I have learned to go deeper into the Yoga sutras and I find more meaning. I had watched over 30 or so lectures from Swami Rama of the Himalayas. I have two books about pranayama from him. I feel he is a legitimate Yogi as he had been tested within a science lab in the 1970's and showed his power of mind over body.
Here I am now, back to the basics of pranayama. I am learning to move and sense the prana (subtle energy) within my body to one day raise it to the crown chakra. It's been 10 whole days since I came back, and it is very hard for me to be able to do things, though I have a much more comprehensive understanding of such.
For instance, now I know how to hold the breath with better control by moving my senses to somewhere else other than the stomach. If I kept it by the stomach, the air would try to escape which would give me the feeling of choking and not being able to complete one round of pranayama.
All in all, I plan on following the Raja yoga path as well as doing everything related to energy work. This is all I have for this month and will update next month.
Thank you for reading!
