Hi Alex, I had a similar theory when I wwas about 16 and reading about Relativity. The universe is continuously created and destroyed at two singularities - a massive white hole, and massive black hole - which are in fact the same singularity (just two sides of the same hole)! Thus the universe is a toroid shape in 4 dimensions. Alternatively there are many such singularities creating /destroying regions of space time simultaneously.

I liked that article. In fact I recently got a subscription to the magazine. I have been monitoring this current revolution in cosmology with interest.

If right about dark stars, it would expand our sphere of knowledge. Unfortunately it does not explain anything new.

There seems to be a piece missing here... if the universe is a dark energy star & we live in it, from where comes the data that says not only is the universe increasing in size, but that the rate of increase is increasing?

It seems to me this would have to be related to outside matter continually falling through the quantum shell in an ever increasing rate - this would raise the question of - from where?

Interesting idea certainly & maybe even a better model, but there seems a concept leap from dark energy stars forming inside the universe to the universe being one & it doesn't explain the expansion. If dark energy stars are the cause of the expansion then surely we would see increased expansion close to them? Unless we're going to scrap this-universe physics altogether & find a new set of rules, it is difficult to see how what are effectively point sources could affect the entire cosmos evenly.

The expansion is caused by the matter falling into the black hole from the other side. As the total energy grows, so does the 'size' of the black hole.

True, it doesn't explain where the stuff that falls in comes from.

It seems to me there is also a problem with the increasing speed of expansion. If the expansion was constant or slowing it would make sense but to have an ever-increasing rate of expansion would imply something like a big bang... that we are seeing from the inside!!
