¡Hi, CFT!
Arthur C. Clarke in its "2061: Odissey Three" book, at Aknowledgements chapter, did mention of Marvin Ross (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) scientist arguing that sub-Jupiter-sized planets (but with extreme atmospheric conditions) may have diamond cores.Originally Posted by CFTraveler

I've not read following article:
"Prospecting for Diamonds in the Outer Planets," by Warren E. Leary, The New York Times, 10/5/99.
but, ¿are article's authors speculating with direct exploit of such planets?
Sincerely,

How beautiful. What an end.Astronomers expect our Sun will become a white dwarf when it dies 5 billion years from now. Some two billion years after that, the Sun's ember core will crystallise as well, leaving a giant diamond in the centre of the solar system.
...but my words like silent raindrops fell
and echoed in the wells of silence.
TMI participant Bruce Moen also maintains that our beloved home planet has a diamond core. He says he used it (along with other TMI participants of the exlporation program) as a "starting point" to "shoot up" to F27 or further dimensions.
Well, he maintains a lot of things. I don't know how to take in his many postulations. I leave it open.
This collector of useless clutter.
Mainstream scientists argue Earth's core is a nuclear fission reactor.Originally Posted by Volgerle
