Re: what is the meaning of mysticism and toward what purpose?
Yes Tim, please do not delete such stirring words. You always bring a tear to my eye, and I wish I could give you a hug.
Please continue to believe, and be open to the symbolic and whispering wisdom.
Yes it is a great smoldering fire, the wars, the strife, but becoming engulf in the sadness increases its strength. The greatness gift is reaching someone, and feeling the happiness radiate outwards. Helping someone see the path they are on is destructive, or perhaps just giving a hug can create a happy ripple effect down the line. Seeing the ripple effect is mystical and magical sight to behold. The lives a positive person can impact over time is priceless. Remaining positive in our world of horrors takes great strength, deep faith, unquestioning trust, and unyielding courage. In times of deep sadness, such as we see now, I hold onto the memories of the lives I have positively touched, and hope they continue on their happy journeys.
Being there to provide a 'grey' perspective, to hear all sides, and take no side, that is a paradise of an island. Why take a side? The only side I take against is the infringement upon another's life path, or spiritual beliefs. It is always intriguing, and very enjoyable to gently discuss the various theologies, religions, creeds etc with the clergy, priest, druid, shifu master, witch, mystic, or magician. To have a quiet conversational exchange of perspectives is in itself a mystical experience. To see their eyes light up, and vice versa. To find another piece of the puzzle, and at times a cornerstone, or perhaps a brand new trail of ideas which needs explored. The eternal A-HA moment when you think you have thought of every spiritual angle....HA
The purpose......mystics quietly safe guard, and hopefully inspire patience, happiness, deep self reflection, the courage to say no to the ridiculous greedy bottom line, the courage to reject that which harms others, the courage to believe outside what society feels is ok today, and ultimately peaceful co-existance. However God gave us the greatest gift, and curse which is free choice.
Will a great spiritual awakening happen soon? Perhaps.....my hope is it will be a HUGE, peaceful one, and my show of support is to absolutely refuse to give into the sadness.
Blessed thoughts and dreams Tim.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
