A weird noise over a small georgia town.

Back when i was a wee lad oh 8 years old, (like 9 years ago :p) There was a really strange sound that lasted for 6 straight days, it buzzed in the air constantly and I wasn't the only one to hear it, mind you that there are no airports, bus stations, radio broadcast centers or any of the like in this town, now i wasn't the only one that heard it either, pretty much anyone who wasn't deaf could, till pretty much everyone in the entire town was starting to complain about it. im not sure if this belongs here but i guess it should fit.

What do you think?

Im not sure a buzzing whining, you could hear it up in the mountains.

Nope, it wasn't a rumbling, more like a buzzing.
