    Eckhart Tolle, "A New Earth"

So far I liked the book rather well, but after page 112 follows page 145, and the pages 145-176 appear twice, so I miss quite a bit of book I guess. Did that happen to anyone else? I bought it at an airport bookstore while travelling, makes it kind of hard to get a refund...

How do you compare it to 'The Power of Now'? If you've read the first one, is the second one redundant? I've heard good things about it, but since I read the first one I'm not sure if I should invest the money on it.

I only read New Earth, didn't do P.O.N.
I found it immensely helpful in my own journey. Exactly what i needed at the time. I reckon it'll probably be worth revisiting too...

Many things are repeated there from 'Power Of Now'.

i believe Tolle has recommended that a new earth should be seen as the first read, followed by power of now, even though power of now came first, but apparently ends up as out of logical sequence. thus, having read a new earth, afterward reread power of now, for a greater sense of clarity.

Hmmm, that's interesting, since i've had Power of Now lying around for years, and never read it. In fact i've had a couple of copies come and go, but never looked at it... i guess it's on my "to read" list then

sometimes the dust is kicked up - Power of Now, and sometimes the dust has settled - A New Earth

which would one have first, yet which is ever first despite what one would have?

like this, one might identify the relative dust within the kicked up and the having settled.

War and Peace - Tolstoy - constructed/authored as two halves, the first half was titled 1805 authored of dust kicked up, the second half authored of dust settled; the two made whole (two halves married together) as his final given title of War and Peace, and what is identified as his 'god-like' narrative running throughout the whole.

but of course, there seems the conflict that both books are repeating...

one can of war be touched by the intricate plans set forth toward peace, yet from peace alone may the war be touched. hindsight

i was 18, my car had balding tires, it came a light rain, the oil of the asphalt mixed with the light rain, had not yet in a hard rain been washed from the curving mountain road, i went into a sharp curve, lost control going into the inside ditch against the hillside, I jerked the steering wheel to bring the car out of the ditch, the car shot across the road, through the guard rail, over the hillside, where i looked long to the bottom at a railroad track waiting below. at that point the car was rolling end over end, couldnt focus on a world in a spin. in that split second my whole life leading to that point in time spun right before my eyes, quick as a lightning strike. suddenly the car stopped, upside down, wheels spinning noisely, metal settling, and i found myself having been caught up in and against a tree midway of the road and the bottom, covered in glass. i crawled out, barely able to find my feet for footing, the world around me yet spinning, my mind trying to bring it to a stop. a man from the road had witnessed me going over, had pulled over, stopped and come running to help me. he hollered, "are ya alright?". i looked up toward the sound of his voice, seeing him, focusing upon his physical presence, the world stopped spinning, i started upward and he started downward, we met and he helped me to the road, got me to his truck, drove me to a store just down the road.

the focus lost in a spin that initiated the spun, all stopped, and the spin that intitiated refocus. focus|spin|spun|spin|focus

that which from is spun is the real (as a lightning strike), and that which to would focus come is reality (thunder)

it is interesting that hot and cold crashing together (duality) commit thunder and quickend striking lightning

yes, the author Tolstoy's identified 'god-like' narrative runs throughout

see the common thread? soft in the head as I am, i do tend to make mountains out of mole hills; but it is darned hard to re-make the mole hill out of a mountain.
