I read the IIH in its entirely
II read and practice one step at a time in IIH, moving onto the next step when you have completed most of the skillset listed at the end of each step.
III When you come to a stumbling block perhaps in Step 7 for example, then open Rawn Clark's companion text to Step 7 and see if you get helps or a new perspective.
Or, alternatively, read the entire companion text after you read all of IIH and then begin the practical pathworking. When you do the practice in a particular step read that text In IIH and then read the companion text for that step, too if there are any stumbling blocks. If on the other hand you feel confident that you have already attained that skillset , skip the companion.
IIH is superior to the companion which in no way replaces it.
