Re: A neurosurgeon's account of NDE

I don't know if it is genuine- I do believe that this happens to people, that it's possible to have a NDE and I'm even open to the suggestion that it may be possible to get a look at the 'other side', but the fact that it's under the 'religion' section and he starts out professing a religious background (any background, IMO) makes me suspect his interpretation (whatever that may be) of the experience itself.
When you read a lot of NDE accounts, it seems that the experiences are the same (or similar) but their interpretations vary. So I'd say, enjoy the read, caveat emptor.

It is strange that some mainstream (?) media only now report about him. Someone also posted about him today on Astralpulse citing another internet source ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...xperience.html ).

He was in non-mainstream-media with his story already almost a year ago. This is e.g. his interview on Skeptiko from Nov 2011, where he makes not even a mention of his Christian background:

Btw, the article in the daily mail also only says he was a 'nominal' Christian. And I think he does not say anywhere explicitly it was a Christian heaven. And even if so, he might have experienced a BST.

As always its hard to interpret a processed medium correctly, as intended to be told from the one who experienced it at least. Perhaps the only way to get a good understanding of wether its real or not is to hear or watch an interview with the person himself.

A new edition in the discussion between a famous "skeptic" who refuses to debate with Dr. Alexander (not surprising really if you have no arguments as usual):

So what the skeptic is saying, is, since the guy's alive, he won't debate with him. Brilliant.
