Indeed. I've seen that a lot with meditation. People get into it expecting to gain some power or special ability or englightenment (whatever they think that might be), and rather than just continue it because, like physical exercise, it's good for you and you will reap more and more benefits the more and the longer you practice, they get all discouraged that they can't do whatever it is they thought meditation would enable them to do and give it up. It's a shame, really, because the longterm benefits of energy work or meditation are considerable and cumulative.
But it's the same with physical exercise, too, I suppose. You expect to lose X amount of weight or drop X number of sizes and when that doesn't happen in whatever period of time you've alotted to yourself, you get frustrated and give up, never realising that there are better rewards that you don't even know about, if you just keep with it...
People can be pretty short sighted and hung up on instant or near-instant gratification. That's the nature of the ego.
May the light surround you, may you be blessed. May the light surround us, may we be blessed. May love and light surround us all, and may we all be healed and blessed. And so it is, and so it shall be, now and ever after.
