Books for spiritual development and unlocking one's abilities?

I have been going to through amazon and looking up some books on shamanism, channeling, paganism, chakras, ect. But I am confused as to which one is right for me. I am a novice soon to be 19 year old college student that is really attracted and excited to subjects such as these. And I want to learn and evolve spiritually so that it may benefit my everyday life. And who knows maybe this will be my job in the next 5 years. Thank you!

    Infinite Love,

    Jason

Hey Jason. "The right books" depend on your personality and what moves you. I can give you all kinds of titles for all kinds of purposes, and some may not be 'right' for you.
What I could consider a great work about overall spirituality is a book that is not about practices in particular, but on metaphysical theory and paradigm-changing about reality and 'what we're here for'. But most younger male practitioners tend to be more interested in the 'how to' than into the 'why'. So you tell me what kinds of things you already looked at, what you didn't like, and I can think of titles to recommend to you.

Hey CFT, I am interested in books of as you said about the metaphysical theory and paradigm as a foundation knowledge...but also I'm interested in more specific books about changing one's life through utilizing their own hidden abilities such as seeing energy/aura, remote viewing, and self-healing.

my dads friend is a buddhist practitioner in acupuncture and he has these abilities where he can see a person aura / energy andhe doesn't need to ask what kind of illness you have to know what you have. He is able to see right through you and determine your illness right away. because through much of my life I've been through so much pain I want to learn these abilities so that I may help other people and help myself As I am still going through much illnesses.in addition I am still in college right now and I'm not sure what I want to do but I know what I really I want to do is to be like him and be a energy healer.
