Thread: Lucid Dreaming Devices

    Lucid Dreaming Devices

I'm looking for a quality lucid dreaming device to stimulate my altered states of consciousness; however, there are a number of them advertised on the internet and I'm not sure which one works well. If someone here in this forum has used one of these and recommends it, please reply. It's always best to get recommendations from someone who has actually used one of these and has good results with it. Please indicate the website where you purchased it.

In my experience I think that Hemi-sync is the most usable. I have never tried lucid dreaming goggles or other things, but it is my belief that they, precisely as binaurals, serve as a tool and does not take you automatically to the experience. You have to have the usual intent, do the usual practices and affirmations etc. to be successful, and I guess the tools used to achieve the preferable state is most often looked upon as being some sort of magic advice that frees you from all the hard work. In my humble opinion it isn't so. Most of us have to take the long road and practice to get there, even with the aid of various devices.
The one thing I can recommend to achieve altered states of consciousness is Hemi-sync from The Monroe Institute. It works on me and its the only thing I can recommend. Although the Hemi-sync material doesn't help with lucid dreaming directly it can be combined with affirmations etc. Mainly it helps you reach altered states of consciousness and possibly helps you as far as inducing lucid dreams. of course its highly individual on how to use it.

I think that lucid dreaming devices have been banned in the U.S., so I may have to get one elsewhere. I thought that I heard that there were law suits that they caused epileptic seizures, but I have know idea how epileptic seizures are related to lucid dreaming. Many years ago a friend of mine lent me her device for a trial and it seemed to work for me. Now I can't find any place locally that sells them, now that I'm interested in buying one.

My favorite device is a small, smooth stone. Pretty primitive. You hold the stone while falling asleep, setting your intention, and when the stone slips from your hand, you wake. Pick it back up, state intention and hold your awareness as long as possible while you drift back to sleep. Stone will keep slipping and gently waking you, which increases odds for WILD.

That's weird, there are all kinds of apps for cellphones that sell pretty consistently. Also the light and sound machines are still available- even Deepak Chopra sells them. Are you sure it's not a specific type of machine that is banned? I know that the stuff we mentioned here is avaliable.
Anyway, for whoever didn't know, anything that strobes can cause epileptic seizures, that's why all binaurals have warnings in them.

    CFTraveler,

Do you know of a lucid dreaming strobe mask that you would recommend? That's what I'm asking for in this post.

I don't like much the one I have (can't relax with all those lights in my eyes) but I've heard that there's some that are real good. I'll see if I can remember the name. BTW, they're not marketed for 'LD'- the usage depends on what frequency you program into it.

Well I found a DIY for making one of these devices, but I'm not really good at electronics.

This is the one I heard good things about.

I have also heard about one called Lucia, but I understand it is very very expensive.
