Seeing White Circle with Designs

New to the forum so hi to everyone!

Occasionally I have gotten like a blast of white light seeing with my eyes closed. Not sure what that was all about.

And this time it was a circle, while I was waking up in the AM. Inside the circle was a black design that was intricate and it was very pretty. It looked like black lace kind of design. It changed a couple times. It seemed that it might be a 3rd eye thing because it seemed that my eyes were looking up. Has anyone had this happen?

Hi pip. There are a few explanations: What they call 'light in the head phenomenon', which usually happens in semi darkness, or a third eye strobe (flash) that can happen anytime.
But if you are looking at designs it's something else, called hypnopompia, and is not that rare if you wake up at the 'right' time. I tend to see geometric patterns in that state too, as opposed to moving scenery when I'm going unconscious.
