    Kurt Leland on Theosophy

Kurt was (is?) a member of this forum and is a book author and expert on AP and spiritual self development in general.

Just yesterday finished watching his video, it's mostly on Annie Besant (Theosophist), he also wrote a book about her, but it's also on types and paths of spiritual development from a theosophical viewpoint.

I found it interesting and worthwhile. It's sad that Korpo/Oliver isn't here anymore around on the forums, as far as I remember and know for sure he also would like this video very much.

Wow! Just watched it all the way through. I could have listened to him all night. Such a well read, experienced knowledgeable man.
I liked the way he put people into 'types'. He realy knows his books and seems very inspired by Annie Bessant.
Surprised at the small number of people in the audience.Would be interesting to find out who this musician was.
This is a man who has read and read as well as gaining the experiences. Easy to see what his task would be in this incarnation.

Sinera, Thank you for posting this video.

I can see that we do not have word´s for these invisible world´s or experiences if we do not know the history. I have not studied anything much of these philosofies or what to call them, only very little but never learned so to speak.
As I have told that I discovered in 4:th grade Jesus from the school religion lessons, and I at once fell in love, I had always bean bullied and laughed at, so Jesus gave me self value what has kept me not giving up.
So now when I listened to Kurt Leland I start to wonder if I need to pick some theosofy and start studying?? or just lern Kurt Lelands vocabulary as I understand he has the knowledge about ALL our bodies ..?? Hmmm.....
Feel like I need suport and help, anyone??

    IA,

I do not think this is an "either/or"-thing. One can stick to one religion or religious figure and still derive value out of other mystical or even religious writings / teachings, imv.

Theosophy isn't really a 'religion'. It is more about practical and some theoretical teachings on mysticism. It lends however a lot from Eastern teachings, especially that cosmology with the bodies and all that, also reincarnation.

It is not 'against Jesus'. It's been a while since I read it but I think they regarded Jesus also as one of the higher masters.

They of course, as mystics and/or occultists, criticise the (Catholic) Church a lot for their exoteric dogmatism and bad things in history. Theosophy was also a counter movement against exoteric religion as well as dogmatic science and materialism. That is why they were more underground and not mainstream (hence: 'occult' which just means hidden).

You can read theosophic writings online.

I at this moment am reading a bit in Leadbeater's "Insible Helpers" essay/book which is not long. Link given below. For general teachings on Theosophy you could read Blavatsky. The Key To Theosophy is a general outline. I read it a few years ago. I think she also writes a lot about Jesus and what the Church made of him in Isis Unveiled (haven't read it though, but skimmed some of it). Both links given below, too.

And Kurt likes to talk about the Theosophist Annie Besant. He made a "Shrine" with her writings online. I have not read anything of it yet, but it could be interesting.

    Re: Kurt Leland on Theosophy

Thank you Sinera, I´ll have a look at these writers, I have never read anything about them, ever.
As I have wrote here I did have a peak at Kabbala only to see at the Tree of Life only...I have longed for sometime now to study something but have not come to any decission yet. And a bit of a longing too at yoga...but there are so many of them so how to know what to choose?? When things get a bit busy with much energy flowing, then I just breathe so to speak, but to have some kind of read knowledge so to speak what can come handy when it is energy storm then I think I could like "know" what is happening and not like it is now...to try to ponder or ask someone when I lack word´s to ask with....so ....I feel I have to do something to help myself little bit, maybe I would feel less confused, I think.

My dream that light brown thing what went into my body I feel it was to ground me more, do you think it could be right??
