    Tibetan dream yoga

The Tibetans have develloped a dream yoga based on the acient Tibetan shamanic Bön tradition and Buddhism. While being a Buddhist yoga the goal is Enlightment it is also supposed to give supernatural powers on the path.

For anyone who is interested I suggest the book

"The Tibetan yogas of dream and sleep" by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

    Also about the subject:

Dream Yoga is meant to be developed along with Tummo or preferably after learning it, so that the energies can be brought into the central channel shushumna. Lucid dreaming is more a side effect of Dream Yoga.

So far, gazing and centering sound to me like lifting your attention from the peripheral nervous system until a state of receptive synesthesia is reached. Then, concentration is lifted from reality. When concentration is lifted from unpleasantness, you're pretty much doing whatever you want.

I understand there is also a Dzogchen dream yoga, which is simply to visualize a white ah in your heart chakra as you go to sleep.

    Pretty simple, yet profound

And from what I understand, this is a very old technique

    Re: Tibetan dream yoga

It is easier to bring the energy into sushumna from the navel chakra first rather than going directly to the heart chakra.

The essential point is since all phenomenon are empty right from the onset, dreams should be let to simply self-liberate. without anaylsis. without avoidance.
