I just watched this last night! Really enjoyed it.
Hmmm. That must have been an interesting revelation for him near the end when he received the young boy at the monastery who had been abandoned by his ('unwed', presumably) mother. I am assuming his master would not have mentioned to him how he first came to be at the monastery. A lesson...focus on PAINFUL lessons in this movie!

I saw it a while ago. It is pretty good. It has a very east Asian philisophical pacing and production (no western fast action or feel-good ending). It is very emotionally intense and not recommended for light entertainment.
