Blessed repose and eternal memory...

I learned last night that my Mother-in-Law, Janet, died. Her funeral is scheduled for Monday morning.

For what it is worth I would note that the day she died, September 8th, has -- since ancient times -- been remembered by all orthodox Christians as the birthday of the Mother of God. I pray that Janet will come under her patronage under her title as the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel.

My wife warns me that it will take months for her to get over her loss. Oh, well, I wish I knew what to do to help her...

I believe you are already doing it- just be with her, listen, and dry her tears when you have to.
