I know a person with the same story. They had meet each other threw the internet and one of them flew to the same country. I think this is quite common.
Growing more common, I would think, given the amount of people meeting on the internet, but each story still has its own qualities that makes it special.

It's certainly a more common occurrence these days. I think the higher powers are glad for the internet so they don't have to keep putting meant-to-be people so close.

Maybe they make sure we put in the extra effort to move across continents to make sure we are serious about our life choices?
