There is no worse way to a relationship than demands-oriented. It is based on fear. There is no better way to a relationship than appealing-oriented. It is based on love.
Relationship means being related to anything else. The nature of this relation can be presented in a mathematical way - which is evident in astrology. Relation in mathematics can be measured by a number; but conceptually it can be presented as a quality - which (the qualities) numbers also represent (modern mathematicians rejected this concept along with the sacred geometry behind it, but it was present in the ancient Pythagorean teachings as well - the scientists took only the applied part of his teachings).
The higher number the stronger relationship. (1 is higher than 2, 2 is higher than 3 and so on - you won't believe it just because you have a different framework think like Egyptians: 1 is whole, 2 is whole divided into 2 parts, 3 is whole divided into 3 parts - and so forth). Modern astrologers tend to say that square is stronger than a triangle, but I would not say so - it is just more explicit and evident because of the tensions it brings.
Relationships between people can be represented by numbers - not one, as relationships tend to be complex/complicated, but sometimes one number may dominate all the others. This theory is weakly understood today.
Beyond numbers (mathematics, science, or mental sphere at all) there is spirit and archetypes creating concepts which in turn create thoughts that can be applied, as shown above. Spiritual is the alchemy which transforms any number into anything else. People do not believe that because they tend to think that only equations create the universe. But the equations do not - spirit does.
The concept of "relationship" itself is beyond any mathematics. Mathematics is a concept (and bunch of related concepts) applied (in mental sphere). Love is spiritual quality, it does not need application, it just transforms the reality, like in the law of attraction. Its effects can be measured, but love itself can not be. It is beyond mental.
Love is compound of all four elements: fire, water, air and earth. It is very useful, therefore, in any alchemy. Love does not need strategy, it melts when it needs to (water), it is purposeful when there is move needed (fire), it illuminates the mind when the time is right (air) and it is fixed, solid and unchangable, balancing the other influences (earth). It adds also a quality to itself (ether, the 5th element). Beyond these elements there is spirit. Love is all of those - and at the same time none of them.
