    Help with the MAP program

    Hi all,

I'm on day 68 of MAP and I haven't had a consciously induced astral projection. I'm doing everything the book says to do, affirmations, dream journal, energy raising and meditations for at least 50 minutes a day. Is there a certain state of mind you have to get in before trying an exit attempt? For example disassociation from the physical body or energetic bodily pressure. 50 minutes is the maximum I can meditate for so is it because I'm stretching my comfortability level. I'm in the troubleshooting week of the program. I don't get any exit symptoms. Any advice would help.

    Thanks.

The rule I invoke is one I found works for me. Don't do an exit technique (any exit technique) before you get exit sensations. If you get vibrations, wait until they have reached their peak, and have begun to wane (some ppl recommend waiting til they disappear completely, I don't go that far) and if you don't get vibrations, wait until you have a combination of 2 symptoms (such as visions and sounds or voices) before you begin to do an exit technique.
There is a misconception that there is a window you can miss if you wait too long, but if you're awake, it's not too late, and if you fall asleep you won't remember it. It is worse to start an exit technique before you're ready because you can exhaust yourself and pass out and actually miss your chance. If you're in a good enough trance there is no hurry, you just do your exit technique until you either decide you can't do it anymore- and if you decide it's not going to happen, don't turn around and go to sleep, get up. If you get up with your body you weren't ready yet, and if you fly off, congratulations, you've done it- you were ready but needed to rotate between exit techniques.

As soon as I do the energy body stimulation at the beginning of my meditation I get very small vibrations, more like tingling sensations, but that is the extent of my OBE symptoms. I meditate in a recliner and no matter how hard I try (I've only had a recliner to sleep in some nights when I was tired and I couldn't fall asleep). I've never been able to fall asleep at an angle so that isn't a problem. So your saying to skip the OBE exit techniques at the end of every meditation until I get 2 exit symptoms? What should I do if I don't get any exit symptoms during my meditations? Go deeper into trance by meditating longer?

    Thanks.

Don't skip: extend. If you're done meditating and you're still not getting any symptoms, you can add something like yet another visualization, you can add energy body loosening, and you can simply observe the blackness (or pinkness) of your eyelids while simultaneously listening to your earhiss until something changes- the earhiss can turn into voices, you can start getting flashes of vision/s, or some other change in your perception that tells you you're in the transitional stage and it's ok to start doing your exit technique.

I'll try to extend my meditations, but it's hard for me to go past 50 minutes. Hopefully I start getting exit sensations soon because I only have 20 days left in the program.

There is no time limit- I do my version of the system since 2005. If I have a day it doesn't work, I don't worry about it, I do a routine another time.
I would say, that an hour should be sufficient, if you're in a meditation over an hour and get no symptoms, there is something that needs changing. But if this is the first time you're using the method in MAP, it might just be a matter of tweaking.

Do you have any suggestions? Do you need more information to do that? I meditated for over an hour yesterday. Can medications be a problem?

To do what? Stay longer in meditation? I don't think medication can affect it except for the tendency to fall asleep, and if that is the case, changing the time you do your attempt would be advised.
