It's been several years since I went to TMI, but I believe the CD's they play there aren't identical to the ones you can purchase for home use. So, I really couldn't compare, and I'm not that familiar with the home version Waves. I don't remember them calling what we listened to anything in particular. They just talked about what we might experience for each one. I distinctly remember one CD where it helped you to "roll" out of your body by having your enegy body roll side to side. It was really intense for me, and I asked them if I could buy it. They didn't sell Gateway at the time, I believe that's happened since I was at TMI, although I could be wrong. I know that Wave VI doesn't have that particular "roll out" CD included, although it does have a part that is specific to having an OBE.

I really want to save up some cash and go to the Gateway Voyage program. I just don't know how long it's going to take me to save that much. It sounds like a really awesome experience though.

One thing I can tell you from personal experience that won't cost you a dime. I have more numerous and greater consciousness experiences when I practice NEW before trying to OBE than I do with the Monroe CD's. Particularly doing the energy storage techniques. http://www.astraldynamics.com/home/new- ... orage.html I even used "Rope" while at TMI in the CHEC unit. It intensified everything. So, don't give up on working on having experiences at home.

I'm definitely not giving up on having the experiences at home...especially considering it would take at least a year to save up enough money to go to the Gateway Voyages thing. I just think it would be a neat thing to experience.

I want to get back into NEW, but since I've started trying to train myself to enter trance states I've come to discover that the area I need the most work on is my focus. My focus is so completely scattershot and weak that it's no wonder I haven't had much success in my spiritual pursuits. I'm able to play video games for hours on end, but that's because the stimuli is constantly changing and my mind has multiple things to jump between. When it comes to paying attention to a single thing, I can barely last a minute. This makes it very hard to do things like energy work with any sort of consistency or efficacy, because my mind is always jumping to other things and not staying on task.

Hi Ouroboros. I read you in Tom Campbell's forum. I have just finished the Gateway Voyage at Monroe Institute and I have had there the first personal experience that there is something beyond PMR and we are more than our physicall bodies. I am that kind of person who need to feed the rational mind and I found there some disturbing evidences. But if you want to have a classical Out of Body experience you will be probably dissapointed (nobody in the group had any). Now I will try the Bruce's PAPI which seems to be more specific. Think of Monroe Institute as a very interesting complementary approach...a must do for a newbie (in my oppinion)

There's also the time factor...they only have 6 days to help people have an experience.
I've tried to do more than OBE attempt a day with H-S, but seem to get some kind of head ache. Doesn't people get head ache or other problems if they do H-S 5 times a day?

BTW, Journey's Out of Body is a good CD to purchase for having OBE's, also.
I use the two last CDs (Cond. C & Cond. D) in the 6 CD JOOB set. I think I sometimes get to a shallow Focus 12, as I get some kind of 3-D feeling to the darkness I see on the back of my eyelids. But doing more than one H-S session a day doesn't seem to work. Is this a matter of practice?

PauliEffect, I have not yet had an OBE listening to Hemi Sync, but I do get into some very interesting states. I am currently going through the home Gateway Experience CD's (I have Wave I, II, and III so far) and have been for a few months. These first few waves are exercises in Focus 10 and Focus 12. My first session is always good and in fact many times I want to do another session immediately because it was so enjoyable or perhaps I had some interesting experience.

However, I find that my second back to back session is almost never good. It starts off good, but then I start having annoying sensations in my legs and forearms. It gets intense enough to where I can't stay still any longer and I have to stop. I do not know if this is energy related or what. Waiting a few hours in between sessions prevents the restlessness from occurring.

Earlier if I did a second session or just one first session too long, my head would start to move, and I couldn't stop it, until I quit the session (by sitting up).

Nowadays, when I do the second session, I can feel tendencies to head movements. It's very strange because it really is my physical head, my neck that moves randomly in all kinds of directions. It's like I've run out of some kind of energy and my astral part struggles to do something to help it.

On a few occasions I have been able to do a second session, without head movements, but with poor result, shallow Focus 10 at best.
