    Oneness with universe

    When I was meditating, something strange has happened to me. I was travelling to the deep of my mind and after trance state I appeared in lucid dream. My first thought was something about that, what is the feeling of know everything. I wanted to try it and I began to feel heavy vibrations in this dream, after a short while I get the feeling, that I am an universe, that I have all its knowledge. I was frightened and I woke up in a trance state. It was something like mystical experiences, but it was in lucid dream. I don´t know, how can the subconsciousness make this illusion, because it seems not like an illusion. Do you know something about that? (I am sorry for my English, I learn it no long time)

    Just because you were having a lucid dream doesn't mean you couldn't have a mystical experience. The subconscious doesn't necessarily 'create' anything, in theory it 'recreates' them from things you have stored in your memory. So a mystical experience can happen anywhere, because it isn't subordinate to anything except your belief. And even that is arguable.

    Yes, so mystical experiences are only my own subjective feelings and only my conscious thought can create them by all possible psychic ways, if I trust in it.

    I would say that a mystical experience is your perception of 'the bigger picture', or 'your oneness with God', or 'The realization of what reality really is' etc. etc. So the experience itself is perceptual, but your consciousness and its relationship with your unconscious/subconscious mediates how you have it. But having it in itself is immediate.
    How confusing am I? Hee hee.

    So my consciousness want to spread on a big part of that, what is in subconsciousness and if it do that, I will have mystical-philosophical view of reality. If consciousness is mediating something to me, what am I?

    All of the above. Your conscious mind is the part of your mind that makes decisions and judges rationally and purposefully. Your subconscious is the part of you that stores information in the form of memories and holds beliefs you have accumulated throughout your life(s), a gatekeeper of sorts and your unconscious mind is the sum total of everything you have ever experienced. Ever. Then there is your Superconscious, or the Mind of God manifest as your mind. The subconscious is the gatekeeper for all your conscious mind is allowed to process. So even though you may see yourself as 'consciousness', I consider myself just 'awareness' sometimes conscious, sometimes not.
    Who mediates anything? You do, as the gatekeeper.
    The mystical experience is what happens when you realize this. Even if your conscious awareness isn't, well, aware of this.

    Of course, this is how I look at things.

    The different between dream and lucid dream is the fact, that in the both cases I have consciousness, but in lucid dream I have awareness. Dream is my consciousness travelling in my subconsciousness with X percent of awareness.

    I think, that subconsciousness haven´t any barriers, because what we will do, if we can know them? It will be real crash.

    That's what psychologists fear when people become aware-that their psyche may not be able to handle it and become fragmented. After all, it's not easy to handle.

    Just wanted to add my agreement with that. It can drive you into what looks (and feels) like insanity. (Been there, done that )

    That aside, mystical experiences are not, in my opinion, all in your own mind. You experience them with your own mind/consciousness, yes, because how else would you? That's the only frame of reference most people have. But I've done a fairly lengthy study of mystics of all kinds and there are striking similarities between their experiences, regardless of the era in which they live or their particular flavour of religion. To me, this indicates that mystical experiences are universal, not insofar as everyone has them, but insofar as they are known to every culture and every tradition and every race and so forth.

    They DO, however, take on many SPECIFICS of the mystic's own culture, beliefs, biases, experiences, and so forth. Everything that we as humans experience is seen through a filter that is unique to the person, although there are similarities (we're all human, after all).

    Mystical experiences in dreams is an extremely common phenomenon amongst those who report mystical experiences. Sometimes it's the only way that the Divine can communicate effectively, because it's the only time we let down our barriers and filters enough to receive the message. You can't discount a mystical experience just because it happens to come when you're sleeping. In fact, that's the norm more than the exception when it comes to things mystical.

    I have no idea if this rambling post is in any way helpful... it's way hot today and my brain is a little bit groggy, so if I'm rambling, please forgive me and send some cooling thoughts my way.
    May the light surround you, may you be blessed. May the light surround us, may we be blessed. May love and light surround us all, and may we all be healed and blessed. And so it is, and so it shall be, now and ever after.

    Re: Oneness with universe

    From Michael Newton's ("Journey of Souls") understanding of how the human mind is layered if accessing things via trance:

    * Conscious Mind
    * Subconscious Mind
    * Superconscious Mind

    In his model the subconscious is the mediator into the superconscious. The conscious mind perceives the least. The subconscious is the totality of our experience here and there. The superconscious mind is where we tune into a higher existence, in the life between lives, the existence beyond time and space as souls. The subconscious acts as a mediator between conscious and superconscious mind. It acts as an interpreter between our spirit and our mind in the physical.

    The mind can access those states, but the subconscious often acts as a filter. Content from the superconscious can enter your mind in dreams, meditation, etc. The subconscious allows superconscious content to enter our minds - that maybe why dream messages can be far wiser than the person receiving them, but at the same time so hard to understand - the communication is scrambled by the subconscious, but also the subconscious is a way to go.

    Monroe postulated a similar model in "Ultimate Journey", where he postulated different layers of mind that filter the experiences you make. He named them Conscious Mind, Animal Sub-Self and Core Self respectively. According to Monroe and others over time the Conscious Mind can evolve and drag more and more out of the subconscious into conscious awareness and eliminate filters. This is spiritual growth. Until then experiences filter in through the subconcious, full of symbols and scrambled.

    Hope this helps,
    Oliver
