Meditation Associated w/incr Grey Matter In The Brain

I thought this was a very interesting article and wanted to share.

"What is most fascinating to me is the suggestion that meditation practice can change anyone's grey matter," Gray said. "The study participants were people with jobs and families. They just meditated on average 40 minutes each day, you don't have to be a monk."

Magnetic resonance imaging showed that regular practice of meditation is associated with increased thickness in a subset of cortical regions related to sensory, auditory, visual and internal perception, such as heart rate or breathing. The researchers also found that regular meditation practice may slow age-related thinning of the frontal cortex.

"Most of the regions identified in this study were found in the right hemisphere," the researchers said. "The right hemisphere is essential for sustaining attention, which is a central practice of Insight meditation."

I read a study on meditation which found startling results, that is, the mind can actually restructure the brain with thoughts alone. This is called neuroplasticity. Google the term as it is an interesting area of science.
This comes with modern findings such as the brain can actually repair itself (once thought impossible).

I already meditate as part of my religious practice- But not a lot (like 15 min.s every day).
Anyway, will I get back any of the brain cells that I lost as a teenager?

Meditation effects are strongly associated to an increase of thought coherence. Similar are effects of hemi-sync technology.

Non-meditative mind attitude engage neuron works in an activity like non-disciplined people. Meditative mind attitude engage neuron works in a coherent pattern like a parade.

By other hand aren´t neuron quantity the secret of intelligence but coordinated work of ten-of-thousand-of-million of neuron through a mechanism known as synapsis.

Meditation leads to a significant increase of synapsis connectiveness between neurons; hence, discoveries about brain structure meditation improvements.

Have you ever considered looking into herbs like ginkgo-biloba or looked into nootropics (smart drugs?)

Chess game are known by its challenging properties and contributes to increase memory power, concentration power, etc.. Like physical body, brain doesn´t develops without exercise. Besides, a parallel diet with adequate smart drugs, nutrients, herbs and vitamins can encourage brain functionality development. Look at:

    Hi SFTraveler...
    ¨
If "pissy" stands for "diuretic effect" refer to Colateral Effects Section of product prospect document (product's technical info about administration way attached to). Of sure product document attached specifies conditions leading to diuretic sequels.
For possible interactions with another products look at:
