The old lady in the yellow house

When I was a kid we moved from this trailer into a big yellow house. As we were moving in, a friend of my mom's stop by to talk to her. Apparently she was the one that lived there before us. She told my parents everything that was wrong with the house. She even told us about the old lady who long ago was struck by lightning and killed on the front porch in her rocking chair. Being a kid, I shrugged it off a ghost story, and her trying to scare up. Now I saw some pretty weird stuff in that house. You could here doors slamming and people talking. But this was the worst. I was there at the house by myself, watching TV. When I got the feeling that someone was there with me. All of a sudden, the blanket that was over the doorway that led upstairs flew up into the air, and someone ran upstairs. They ran into my brother's room and slammed his door. Needless to say, I got the H-E-double toothpicks outta that house. I got out front and stopped. I could feel someone looking at me. By chance I looked at my brother's window, and there stood this crippled over old lady. I was maybe about 12 at the time.

Last year I had this dream that I was back in my old room in that house. I noticed that the closet door was open, so I walked over to check it out. When I got to the door, I heard a voice say that I was too afraid to go in. So I stepped in. I felt a presence there with me. I turned around, and there was that same old lady that I saw, when I was a kid.
She turned and stepped through the bedroom door, out into the common area. So I immediately followed her through the door. I never caught up.

I don't know why things in my dreams always run away. Perhaps I'm to aggressive, but hell it's the dream. Might as well live a little.

So, were you afraid of the old lady when you lived there?

Yeah. It would be hard not to be. I mean when doors slam and people run across the floor upstairs, and you go up to investigate, and no one is there. That place was my first real experience with the paranormal. I've experienced things in almost everyplace that I've lived, but that was the most bizarre.

I had someone tell me that they think that I maybe what they call hyper-sensitive, but my family dates back 3 or 4 generations of being able to do and see things. I've been told by my mom that my great grandfather's people used to do levitation back in the hills of Virginia. I'm not talking about David Blaine staged antics. I'm talking about self-induced no wires levitation. After knowing what I now know, I think I need to make a trip to Virginia to find out some answers. I've had dreams that came true. I've had dreams that were so real that I was stabbed in the chest, and when I woke up, my chest was sore in the same exact location. I've had visions. Perhaps tomorrow, when I have more time, I will post the dream and the vision I just had about my brother.

I grew up in a haunted house too, and my family has a 'history', so to speak. Except for one place I lived in (an apt.) every single house I've lived in has had stuff happen too. Since we built our present house, I've come to realize that we're the beacons for this sort of thing. This is a very freeing realization, let me tell you.

It's funny that I've had people say that I'm privileged. Whatever that means? They don't realize that I never asked for this, and how much of a burden it can be. Especially if you know what is going to happen. I don't really want to know. I was asked if I have ever tried to keep something from happening, but I don't really know who it's going to happen to, or when, or where. That is why my signature is what it is. One cannot deny the cosmic order of things.

That is only half the truth- when you're ready for the other half you'll hear it.

But what people don't realize is that I would give this all up for just one moment of peace. All I ever wanted to be was like everyone else, but the world decided to forge me into this thing. I promise you that I would never have chosen this life, because in a way, it has driven a little crazy. I've seen people walk through walls that weren't really there. I've had things take a swing at me, and I'm the only one in the apartment. That is why I now meditate. It is the only time that I feel like myself.
