dream interpretation and colours..

colours play a seemingly important part in my dreams, and i'm wondering what they can tell me.
sometimes it's like only one colour stands out in a dream, as if the colour itself is more important than the object or whatever it is that is coloured.

my initial thought is that it is corresponding to chakras and their recognised colours?.. telling me i need to do some work on that particular chakra.
of course it is sometimes a colour that doesn't relate to a chakra so this theory could be way off..
