trouble with new energy ways

I am a bit of a unbeliever
when I try to stimulate my energy body i start to get weird prickly feelings elsewhere from where I am working. which doesn't help very much I keep thinking maybe its all my imagination.

That's different.

If this makes you feel better, Candace Pert (the neuroscientist who discovered endorphins in the human body) commented on her book Molecules of Emotions that when you focus your attention on a specific part of your body, circulation increases on that specific part. So if you don't believe that it's your 'energy' moving in the area you're working on, then at least know that your circulation is flowing there.

All I can say is that after a long dry spell, I was able to project again after doing NEW, and now I've been able to consciously do it 4 times in 2 months. Before it was that much a year, and only spontaneously.
so, the proof is in the pudding.
