Currently I'm working as a casual/substitute teacher when it suits me. I had a job for the entire 9 week term but threw it in after 5 weeks because the point of this year was to have a break. Further, I'd accepted this position as a favour at a workplace that was a 45 minute drive from home because they couldn't get a suitable teacher but then they began acting in fairly exploitative ways. So, I exercised my prerogative.

5 weeks out of 9 was pretty good. I made money for Christmas shopping and I would be back at my own job next year. Still, after taking a week off, I thought I'd ring my favourite 2 schools and let them know I was available again. Chances were I wouldn't be needed because Year 12 classes had already wound up for the year and Year 10 classes would soon and replacements would come from the teachers on staff with holes in their day.

Then I dreamt I was at one of the schools on the 7th. That school rang today asking if I could work on the 7th, 8th, 9th and possibly 10th and 11th. I was ready for the call because I organised myself with this likelihood in mind. I even had my mobile/cell phone out where I could easily access it - so unlike me.
