Hello, PauliEffect.
Only the false personality is burned away, the divine seed within the personality is maintained. IIRC he also explains how an organic spiritual growth process would normally expand the gold core to encompass most of the resulting personality, with maybe only a small "veneer" of false personality on top, while a very unaware lifetime might result in a process as symbolised here. The discarnate in question was surely an extreme example.
The topics of the afterlife and religious views about it are expanded on in "The Unanswered Question," including references to the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying (and the concept of Bardo states), Swedenborg's descriptions of the afterlife, etc.Leland brings up various views on religion, specially Christianity, and how it has become twisted
over time. Leland also takes a short tour into the Afterdeath Zone of ancient Egypt which is
no longer inhabited by any discarnates.
You could also read the theosophical material. The structure has been largely described by authors such as Besant and Leadbeater (like "Man and his Bodies", which influenced "The Multidimensional Human"), or, as you mention yourself, there is also a lot of information in the astral projection log.I'm amazed at the quality and volume of his experiences. Leland's approach
is slightly different than the Monroe school. He is influenced by
theosophical principles.
The Logs are not describing a complete astral structure in the same way as
for example Moen's books. My guess is that to get the full structure from
a Leland point of view, you'll have to read some of his books.
